Just a few of the trainers that came out to support us on Community Day.

We recently concluded our second Raid For A Cause event on July's Squirtle Community Day. From June 21st through July 8th we kept track of all the raids we posted in Raid Attendance and which teams posted them. During that time frame the following teams posted raids:

Mystic posted 23 raids

Instinct posted 33 raids

Valor posted 43 raids

The last time we had a Raid For A Cause event was near the holidays and we were able to donate 330 pounds of food to Saint Vincent DePaul's Soup Kitchen/Amazing Grace Food Pantry right here in Middletown, CT.

If you aren't familiar with this organization, you can find more information on their website here. They provide an amazing service for our community and everyone in it. For just a little bit of information about what they do:

The "Amazing Grace Food Pantry serves an estimated 3,000 individuals, or 1, 075 households each month. This translates to 260,000 meals a year or 22,000 meals per month. These households represent an average of 1,362 adults, 527 children and 273 elderly served each month. Last year, we distributed approximately 416,115 food items, or 34,676 food items each month."

This time for Raid For A Cause we concluded on Squirtle Community Day with time before and after the event dedicated for trainers to drop off their donations and help us Stuff-A-Suburu. For this donation we were able to collect a total of 320 pounds of food from local trainers on the Middletown Pokemon Go Discord. We received both donations of food and cash donations/Paypal donations that we then used to purchase food for the Amazing Grace Food Pantry.

This is the 320 pounds of food we were able to donate.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed and helped us donate all of this food to a local organization that can distribute food to people in need. If you'd like to make any donations on your own, please read over the various ways you're able to donate here. Not only can you donate packaged food but if you have surplus items from your garden that you won't use, you can donate those too!

Summer time is one of the times during the year that Food Banks need our support the most. Everyone thinks about being charitable around the holidays, but summer is when needs are not always easily met. Please consider your community all year long.
